Singapore has long been at the centre of Standard Chartered's technology and innovation journey for its Wealth Solutions business. So when the bank set out to accelerate its ambition of becoming one of the top three wealth managers in the world, it looked for a partner that understood both advanced technology and the fast-paced realities of banking.
In a recent conversation, Unique AI's Manuel Grenacher sat down with Steve Brice of Standard Chartered to reflect on what the two teams have built together and where the partnership is heading next.
Why Singapore, and why now
Standard Chartered wanted to work with organizations operating at the highest level of financial complexity because that's where trust and impact really matter. Delivering timely wealth expertise to clients at scale requires technology that holds up under exactly those conditions.
Where the impact shows up
The clearest example is the Global Investment Committee, which reviews 90 asset classes and investment ideas every month. Preparing for decisions at that scale demands an enormous amount of research, and that's where Unique AI's platform has made the difference.
By consuming large volumes of research content and summarizing it into a form the investment committee can use directly, the team has been able to speed up its investment decision-making process while ensuring its integrity and high quality. The result: time savings of 50 to 60 percent, and in some cases up to 70 percent.
As Steve described, this is only the start of the journey. Standard Chartered is exploring use cases across knowledge retrieval, research, summarization, and content creation, and is looking at how Unique AI could support managed investment as well.
For Unique AI, the principle behind the work is simple: building technology that fits into real-world financial use cases, from a place of deep understanding. Standard Chartered's commitment to both finance and to Singapore made it a natural long-term partner.
We're grateful to Steve Brice and the entire Standard Chartered team for their collaboration and their trust. This is the beginning of a long and important partnership, and we're excited for what the future brings.
